In this three week class, you’ll learn all about making crocheted mandalas. In the first class, we’ll start by looking at some special crochet techniques for mandalas, including starting with a Magic Ring, creating “standing” stitches to start a round, and weaving in ends. We’ll talk about color and analyze what makes some mandalas more effective than others. We’ll then get started on our first mandala.
In our second and third class, we’ll continue to work on additional mandalas and learn more about interpreting written and charted crochet directions and forming unusual stitches. We’ll also talk about ways to display these beautiful creations.
Skills needed: Basic crochet skills recommended but beginners are welcome!
Several coordinating skeins of yarn in the same weight (sport weight or heavier is suggested, pictured samples used 100% cotton yarn)
Crochet hooks to match yarn size (see yarn label for suggested hook size)
Row counter or pencil

Knitter's Workshop is an open ended class where you choose the project you want to work on and receive weekly support in achieving your goals. It is appropriate for all levels of knitters. We'll have step by step instructions for beginning knitters, mini-lessons for new skills, tips and tricks for more experienced knitters, and weekly encouragement and accountability for everyone.
As this class is based on self selecting knitting projects, materials will vary from student to student. Please bring your chosen pattern, basic notions (scissors, ruler, tapestry needle, stitch markers, etc.), and yarn and needles appropriate for the project.
This class runs for six weeks.
